A complete electrical panel replacement for a 2000s family home that still had its original fuse box, a common safety concern in older residential properties. The homeowner had growing concerns about the risk, and about the absence of modern protection such as AFDD and surge protection.
We replaced the existing fuseboard with a much larger one that leaves room for future expansion, such as adding a photovoltaic system or a diesel or gas generator. The job was completed in mid-2025, and we have already carried out the six-month check with no issues found. Average load during the winter months exceeds 30 kW.
The work also included creating an earthing system and building the panel in our workshop. Installation and post-installation troubleshooting took almost 26 hours, split across two separate dates. On completion we labelled every light switch and socket outlet for easier identification.
