Our team was asked to integrate the existing smoke extraction system with a new smoke detection and fire suppression system.
To provide manual control as well, and add an extra layer of safety, we also fitted manual controls. In this setup the customer can switch the smoke extraction fans on or off by hand, or leave them on automatic. When set to automatic, the smoke and fire suppression system triggers the extraction.
The fans draw roughly 3 kW each. We also installed the trunking for the control panel, but reused the low-voltage (24 V) wiring already run by a previous team, the one that fitted the smoke and fire detection unit.
