Sector 6 generates the highest volume of requests we get for upgrading apartment consumer units. Drumul Taberei and Militari have an extensive stock of blocks built between the 1960s and 1980s, while new residential developments have gone up over the past fifteen years at the edge of the sector, toward Chiajna, bringing an entirely different set of issues.

Drumul Taberei and Militari
Apartments in these neighborhoods are almost universally wired with aluminium circuits and original consumer units, or ones that have only been lightly modified. The most common request is replacing the unit with one properly sized for current consumption, with separate circuits and adequate protection.
A specific issue in this area is that many apartments originally relied on gas for heating and cooking, and the partial switch to electric appliances โ induction hobs in particular โ was made without first checking whether the wiring could handle it. An induction hob alone can require more power than the rest of the apartment's combined load.
The metro line extension and thermal rehabilitation work carried out in recent years have created another type of request: restoring circuits affected by facade work, and repositioning electrical fittings after buildings were insulated and re-clad.
Crangasi, Giulesti, and Grozavesti
The building stock is more mixed in this area, with older blocks and pockets of houses toward Giulesti. In the houses here we frequently find overhead service connections and wiring with no surge protection, which leaves them vulnerable to lightning strikes and disturbances on the distribution network.
Repairs carried out after such events consistently confirm the same conclusion: the value of the damage done to household appliances significantly exceeds the cost of installing surge protection beforehand.
New developments toward Chiajna and Militari Residence
In the new construction at the edge of the sector, our work is less about repairs and more about completing the installation: air conditioning circuits, extra outlets added after interior fit-out, secondary consumer units for the loft or basement, and preparing the infrastructure for EV chargers.
We also check the quality of the original workmanship, particularly in buildings delivered on a fast-track schedule, where circuit labelling and correctly sized protection devices are usually the first things to get skipped.
We cover all of Sector 6, for both residential and commercial properties.
